Where Do Square + DoorDash Payouts Deposit?

DoorDash payouts deposit from DoorDash. Square payouts deposit from Square. They never mix, and DoorDash money never passes through Square Balance or your Square checking account.Ogent connects the two systems at the order level so your kitchen sees everything — but it does not touch either payout. Here's exactly how it works and where to verify it.

Why DoorDash and Square payouts never mix

DoorDash is a marketplace — it acts as merchant of record for the order, collects the customer's payment under its own processing relationship, and remits to you net of commission. Square is a payment processor for your direct sales — it processes cards on your behalf under your own merchant agreement and deposits the net to your bank.

Two different legal and financial structures. Two different deposit pipelines. Square has no technical hook into DoorDash's payment stack and DoorDash has no hook into Square's. Even if you wanted them to mix, they couldn't.

What Ogent does is the only thing it's appropriate to connect: the order data. The ticket from DoorDash gets formatted for Square's KDS so your kitchen has one workstation. That's where the integration lives — and it's where it should live.

How to verify your payout setup is correct

A 5-minute audit to confirm DoorDash is depositing where you expect.

  1. 1

Log into DoorDash Merchant Portal. Open Settings → Bank Information. Confirm the bank account on file is the one you want DoorDash deposits to go to.

  2. 2

Open your most recent Payouts report. DoorDash itemizes gross sales, commission, fees, refunds, and net deposit. Confirm the net matches what hit your bank.

  3. 3

Check Square Balance separately. Square Dashboard → Balance. Confirm Square deposits are arriving as expected from in-store and direct online sales only — no DoorDash money should ever show up here.

  4. 4

Spot-check one DoorDash order end-to-end. Pick a recent DoorDash order. Confirm it appears in Square (kitchen ticket) and in DoorDash Merchant Portal (financial transaction). The two records should agree on the order total but only DoorDash will show the deposit.

Edge cases — refunds, chargebacks, promotions, tips

In every edge case, the rule holds: DoorDash money is handled by DoorDash. Square doesn't see it.

  • Refunds on DoorDash orders

DoorDash issues the refund and subtracts it from your next DoorDash payout. Square is not involved at any point — the original order shows in Square as a kitchen ticket, but no money ever moved through Square.

  • Customer chargebacks on DoorDash

Same as refunds. DoorDash handles the dispute and adjusts your DoorDash payout. Nothing hits Square.

  • Promotional credits and DoorDash marketing

If you opt into DoorDash promotions, the discount is deducted from your DoorDash payout (not Square). The promotion line item appears in your DoorDash Merchant Portal Payouts report.

  • Tips on DoorDash orders

DoorDash handles tips per their policy. Some tips go to the courier directly; some pass through to you and then to your staff. None of this passes through Square — see your DoorDash agreement for the specifics.

  • Catering or large-order programs through DoorDash

These follow the standard DoorDash payout flow — DoorDash to your bank. Square only sees the kitchen ticket. If you also have a separate catering arm running through Square (direct invoicing, etc.), those are entirely separate flows.

FAQ — Square + DoorDash payouts

Are DoorDash payouts deposited into my Square checking account?

No. DoorDash payouts are never deposited into Square — not your Square Balance, not your Square checking account, not any Square-held account. DoorDash deposits directly to the bank account you configured in your DoorDash Merchant Portal, on DoorDash's normal payout schedule. Square is not involved in DoorDash settlement at all.

Does the payout go to Square Balance or does DoorDash pay the merchant directly?

DoorDash pays the merchant directly. Square Balance only holds funds from sales that were processed by Square's card processor — that is, in-store card-present sales and direct online sales running through Square. DoorDash sales are processed by DoorDash; the money is held by DoorDash and deposited from DoorDash to your bank.

Where in my bank statement will I see DoorDash deposits?

DoorDash deposits typically appear in your bank as 'DoorDash, Inc.' or a similar identifier. Square deposits appear as 'Square Inc' or similar. Most accounting tools will let you create rules that auto-categorize each — useful for keeping the two revenue sources cleanly separated in your books.

Can I change which bank account DoorDash deposits to?

Yes — inside the DoorDash Merchant Portal under payment settings. That setting is independent of anything in Square. You can deposit DoorDash to a different bank account than Square if you want to keep the two revenue streams in separate accounts.

What does Square actually receive from a DoorDash order?

Just the order data — items, modifiers, special instructions, totals, customer name. Square uses this for kitchen routing (KDS), reporting, and inventory deduction. Square never receives the money, the customer's payment information, or any settlement data for DoorDash orders.

Does Ogent ever touch the money in this flow?

No. Ogent is purely a software connector at the order layer. It receives the DoorDash order, formats it for Square, and pushes it to your Square KDS. It does not process payments, does not hold funds, and does not affect either the DoorDash or Square payout schedule.
