Square POS + DoorDash, Unified by Ogent
DoorDash orders route directly into your Square Kitchen Display System — no extra tablets, no manual entry. Your DoorDash payouts are unaffected and stay in the DoorDash Merchant Portal.
How a DoorDash order reaches your Square kitchen
Customer orders on DoorDash
The customer places their order through the DoorDash app or website, just as they always would.
Ogent receives and routes the order
Ogent receives the DoorDash order and instantly sends it to your Square POS as a standard order.
Square KDS fires the ticket
Your kitchen sees the order on the Square Kitchen Display System and receipt printer — exactly like a walk-in order.
DoorDash driver picks up
The food is prepared and handed off to the DoorDash courier. No extra tablets, no manual entry.
Two separate money flows — Ogent connects them at the order level
DDoorDash Payout
- → Customer pays DoorDash at checkout
- → DoorDash deducts their commission
- → DoorDash deposits the remainder to your bank
- → You track it in DoorDash Merchant Portal
SSquare POS Settlement
- → In-house and online orders pay through Square
- → Square deducts their processing fee
- → Square deposits the remainder to your bank
- → You track it in Square Dashboard
Ogent sits between DoorDash and Square at the order level only — routing tickets to your kitchen. It does not touch either payout stream.
What you get with the Square + DoorDash setup
Payouts stay with DoorDash
DoorDash pays you directly through your DoorDash Merchant Portal, on their normal schedule. Ogent and Square are not involved in the payout — they only handle order routing.
One dashboard for in-house sales
DoorDash orders appear in your Square Dashboard for reporting purposes, alongside your in-person sales. One view for everything your kitchen processes.
No extra hardware
Orders print to your existing Square printers and KDS screens. You don't need a separate tablet for DoorDash orders.
Menu synced from Square
Your DoorDash menu is powered by your Square catalog. Update a price in Square and it reflects everywhere — no double entry.
Frequently Asked Questions
When I use Square with DoorDash through Ogent, where do my DoorDash payouts go?
Your DoorDash payouts go directly to your bank account through the DoorDash Merchant Portal, exactly as they always have. Ogent routes the order into Square so your kitchen can prepare it — but Ogent and Square have no involvement in the DoorDash settlement. Your payout schedule, amounts, and DoorDash Merchant Portal are completely unchanged.
Does the DoorDash Merchant Portal change when I connect Square POS?
No. Your DoorDash Merchant Portal remains exactly the same. Ogent only handles order routing to your Square hardware — DoorDash's own payout settings, reporting, and promotions tools are separate and are not affected.
What's the difference between DoorDash payouts vs. Square POS settlement?
These are two separate financial flows. DoorDash collects payment from the customer and pays you through the DoorDash Merchant Portal after their commission. Square POS processes your in-house sales (card-present, online) and settles those separately through Square's payment processing. Ogent connects them at the order level — not the payment level — so your kitchen gets the ticket, but the money flows exactly as it did before.
How do I see DoorDash sales in my Square reporting?
DoorDash orders routed through Ogent appear in your Square Dashboard under sales and order history. This gives you a unified view of all orders your kitchen processes. However, the financial settlement for those orders comes from DoorDash — so for accounting, reconcile DoorDash sales using both your Square report (order volume) and your DoorDash Merchant Portal (actual payouts).
Can I manage DoorDash and Square orders from one place?
With Ogent, your kitchen manages all orders through Square — DoorDash orders appear on your Square KDS alongside in-person tickets. For financial management, DoorDash payouts are still handled in the DoorDash Merchant Portal since they're separate from Square's payment processing.
Do I still pay DoorDash commission when using Ogent?
The commission structure depends on your DoorDash merchant agreement. Ogent routes orders from DoorDash into your Square POS but does not change the commission DoorDash charges. Some restaurants use Ogent's own QR and online ordering alongside DoorDash to shift more volume to commission-free channels.
Do I need to replace my Square POS to use this?
No. Ogent works on top of your existing Square setup — same hardware, same payment processing, same Square Dashboard. Nothing is replaced.
Can I also accept Uber Eats orders into Square through Ogent?
Yes. Ogent integrates with both DoorDash and Uber Eats, routing both into your Square POS. Your kitchen sees all delivery orders in one place.
